Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Record /
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is opening its Soho Annex,
a smaller exhibition space, and the opening party's VIP guests
needed a premium gift bag gift.
I proposed to do a 12" record, "this is Rock and Roll, This is
New York City." Side A would be New York artists like Talking Heads,
Grandmaster Flash, and Lou Reed. Side B would have street sound
records of locations in the 5 boroughs, recorded by myself.
File under Killed:
Everyone loved it, but the record became a tote bag because of the
wording on the record company contract, which became a legal issue.
It still looks cool though.
